SeaFuture 2025 took place from September 29 to October 2 at the La Spezia Naval Base, marking the ninth edition of this major international event dedicated to innovation in the maritime and defense sectors.

The exhibition area hosted over 370 companies (including large industrial groups and SMEs) and around 80 foreign delegations (mainly military), with a packed schedule of B2B and B2G meetings (approximately 3,500 appointments) and pitching sessions.

SeaFuture stands out for its strong multidisciplinary approach: the topics addressed include defense and security, blue and green economy, sustainability, maritime transport, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and underwater technologies. Notably, the Green & Blue Innovation Hub area and the sections dedicated to startups and artificial intelligence reflect the event’s focus on sustainable solutions and disruptive innovations.

As highlighted by Cristiana Pagni, President of Italian Blue Growth, SeaFuture has become “a model of excellence, innovation, and sustainability at the international level” and represents a “meeting ground of shared intentions” where the future of the sea can be discussed.

These elements confirm the event’s strategic role within the naval sector, creating an ideal context in which specialized companies can engage with institutions and key industry players.

In this context, BluSea’s participation as an exhibitor provided the firm with a highly significant international showcase.

SeaFuture is explicitly designed to provide companies in the maritime sector with an opportunity to expand their network and promote their products and services. During the event, BluSea specialists had the chance to meet military delegations, representatives of maritime security forces, university researchers, and technology suppliers from around the world.

This made it possible to establish new collaborations and strengthen technical-industrial partnerships. As noted by an executive from another specialized exhibitor, SeaFuture represents a “vital” opportunity for highly specialized operators and for the entire naval sector to meet and exchange ideas.

Thanks to its participation in hundreds of B2B meetings and matching sessions, BluSea was able to showcase its technical know-how and gain insights into the needs of the military and SAR markets, strengthening ties with naval institutions and international stakeholders.

During SeaFuture, BluSea presented some of its advanced engineering solutions in the field of military and SAR naval architecture.

The BluSea design firm specializes in the design of military, work, and leisure vessels made of fiberglass and light alloys.

The company’s design approach is “full-service”: each project covers all phases, from the initial concept to the detailed drawings, including structural analyses and propulsion studies. During the event, BluSea highlighted key aspects such as the structural calculations required to ensure high safety standards, the standard design procedures followed throughout the development process, and the extensive professional experience gained over the years.

At the same time, BluSea emphasized its ability to develop all the technical documentation required for class certifications and type approvals, ensuring a smooth transition from the design phase to actual construction.

For example, in the SAR sector, a major focus was placed on the integration of technological solutions for search and rescue missions:

light, high-speed vessels equipped with active stabilization systems and flexible interior layouts designed to accommodate rescue equipment.

From a dimensional standpoint, BluSea presented projects ranging from small vessels to large military ships (up to 58 meters in length), demonstrating versatility and expertise in handling complex and large-scale hulls.

Interview by Confartigianato (La Spezia)

"From a blank sheet to the design of a ship — including balance, load, and system details — the BluSea studio is made up of a dynamic and specialized team of experts. At booth F30 of the SeaFuture exhibition, you will find the BluSea partners ready to meet your requests."
